Nancy O'Dell began her broadcast career as an anchor and reporter on WPDE-TV which was located in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. In the following years, she worked as a anchor of the morning news and as a the crime reporter at WCBD TV. The journalist's report on the lack of responses of police officers towards DUI instances in Charleston led to an investigation conducted by the State Law Enforcement Division, that led to a revised direction from the state authorities on DUI cases. It was reported that the Associated Press honored Ms. O'Dell with the Best Report of the Years Award in all South Carolina Media. O'Dell's experience in Charleston led her to serve as co-anchor, investigative report and NBC's Miami WTVJ-TV. Before she joined Access Hollywood she was a weekday co-anchor as well as the weekend anchor for NBC. O'Dell, in addition to anchoring the main show for Access Hollywood, also appears on NBC News Today as well Dateline NBC. She covered events such as The Oscars, The Emmys, The Grammys, and The Golden Globe Awards. Alongside co-hosting the Pre-ShowArrivals in preparation for The Emmys & The Golden Globes. She also co-hosted The Miss USA pageant as well as the Miss USA pageant and the Miss Universe pageant.
